Must do!

Last week saw the start of must do tasks.

The students have set tasks and times where we have whole class teaching and activities. Once this is finished it becomes must do time and the children need to self manage in order to get the weekly and daily must do tasks completed.

What an excellent effort for their first proper go and week doing this! The students worked in their groups and held each other accountable for ensuring they go the work completed. They even held me for ransom at one stage because I hadn't printed a photo they needed! Excellent.

Here is what our must do charts looked like come Thursday!

Once the children have done this for a few weeks and go the hang of how it all works we will then introduce completing their own timetables!

All very exciting here in Room 14. Make sure you come along and check out the action.

Easter Egg Hunt!

In the spirit of Easter, Room 14 had an Easter Egg Hunt!

The children had to write a set of instructions for someone else in the class to find a hidden Easter Egg.

With about 4 other classes doing the same thing at the same time we were lucky to only lose 1 egg!

Most children really put into practice what they have learnt in maths about writing instructions and included compass points, time connectives and numbered each instruction.

An excellent way to end our unit on Position and Orientation.

A visit from some cuddly friends

On Wednesday 23rd March Room 14 had a wonderful visit from 4 furry friends..

They told us that they were here to report back to the Easter Bunny about how well behaved they are and if they were completing their must do tasks.

The children loved having a cuddle and we even wrote about what we thought it would have been like being in Room 14 from the perspective of one of the bunnies.

This week's Principal's award went to Cooper!

Cooper you strive to complete everything you do to the highest of standard. You are always on task and are becoming an excellent role model in Room 14.

I look forward to watching you continue to grow throughout the year.

What a morning! In under 45 minutes we managed to complete 6 races for this year's Duathlon.

A big thank you to all the parents that came along to support and help around the course.

The weather held out and it was a fantastic morning.
