For our inquiry we have been diving into Ocean Pollution and Environmental Disasters that effect our water ways.
We are now focusing our attention on how and why the rubbish is making its way to the ocean. We are also learning about one of our main questions: How can we decrease the amount of solid waste before it gets to the landfill?
One experiment we are doing in class is watching to see how long it takes for different materials to biodegrade.
Today we set up our experiment! We will now photograph it over the next two weeks to see what happens.
Which material do you think will biodegrade first?
Plastic bag, plastic straw, tissue paper, orange peel, apple core or newspaper.
